It works great ant it's fast & looks great!This is only my 3rd espresso machine in 20 years, the first one I couldn't get gaskets for, one the function knob froze up.I took the first one out of storage and used it until the XP-1000 arrivedIt's on the way to give me 10 years of great service!

The filter holder is not dishwasher safe, as I found out the hard way, as the product tarnished and made some very awful metallic tasting espresso thereafter. I've been slowly polishing it back down.The plastic housing is flimsy, which makes use of the steamer extremely dangerous. The instructions kindly point out that "This device is not intended for use by children or people without knowledge or experience with the machine." Therefore, if you haven't experienced the Krups xp100050, even Krups says don't bother.The capacity for liquid is so low that you can't both make espresso and steam milk. The steamer itself is positioned too close to the machine for ease of use.The plastic capuccino attachment is engineered such that if you use it, milk will caramelize onto the metal parts of the steamer, which will require scouring.If you just want a nice cup of espresso, this product is fine for you. If you want to make cappucinos or lattes I recommend some other model.
