The Saeco Syntia Cappuccino is a beautifully designed compact little machine with a nice stainless steel finish. Right out of the box we where surprised about its compact size-much smaller than we thought it would be, which makes it easy to integrate into the kitchen. After the first 2 cups of espresso, which you should rather dump than drink, the machine has pretty much adjusted itself to brew the perfect creamy shot of espresso. The machine allows adjustment of coffee quantity per shot from mild over medium to strong flavour, 3 different temperature levels, and manual adjustment of the grind coarsness, from coarse to smooth. The Syntia Cappuccino has a different spout compared to the standard Syntia, allowing the connection of the milk tank to the side. On the press of the big round cappuccino button in the center the Syntia will suck milk out of the container, steam froth it to perfection and pour the froth into your cup prior to the espresso shot. If you don't want to spoil your milk foam it makes sense to place sugar/sweetener etc. into the cup before you initiate the brewing cycle. There is really nothing negative to say about this little machine, espresso and cappuccino taste both excellent and can be adjusted to your preference and memorized with the memo setting. As long as you keep your machine clean, and it will prompt you to clean after each use that involved the milk frother, you will be rewarded with the perfect cup of your prefered coffee beverage. The only thing that surprised me a little is that the spill drawer fills up with water quickly, even if you did not spill one drop into it from the spout, somehow it fills up with water during the brewing cycle, I can only assume this to be normal and it doesn't bother me to empty the drawer once I am done with brewing. There is a little red float indicator that rises as the drawer fills up to remind you to empty the drawer to prevent overflow. All in all I am very happy with this machine. As with anything, keep it maintained and clean it frequently, and it should keep you happy.
